In Loving Memory Of
Emily & Emilio Garcia
pg61bar.gif
Below you will find the letter that Amy Childress wrote about Emily's murder. Amy is the sister of Ashley Childress who wrote the poems for Emily on the previous page of this site. Both of these young ladies are in their teens and so moved by Emily's story that they wrote these things in her memory. Our family was so touched by the compassion that these ladies have and we still stay in contact with them and have become good friends. Thank you so much Amy for this beautiful letter that you wrote and for remembering our Angels Emily & Emilio and for letting us know that there are good people out there that do really care. God Bless You.

A Beautiful, Stolen Life
The Forever Cherished Life Of Emily Jeanette Garcia
Written By Amy Childress

Emily Jeanette Garcia was an innocent, fun-loving, 15 year old
She set out the door one day to go to a Doctor's appointment
She never returned home again

48 hours were lost before a  missing person's report could be filed. Do you ever just want to punch in the face of the clock?
Even after the report was filed, hope was the key to survival.
Was she still out there?? Was she safe??

A grisly scene was discovered days later by a road crew
A lifeless body bound and broken..bruised and torn
With no evidence and no leads....she became Jane Doe
Her name was Not Jane Doe!!

Jane Doe lay in a grave for a year, unidentified. She was nowhere near peace.
Her killer was still out there...On the loose
A chilling autopsy revealed that her killer stole 2 lives
Jane Doe was 3-5 months pregnant

A friend was watching television at just the right time
Jane Doe had the same tattoo as their lost Emily
Jane Doe was finally given her identity back

Mixed feelings came to the surface of her loved ones. Relief, devestation, and mourning.
But the haunting question left painfully unanswered...who was the cold blooded creature that did this??
The question still haunts us to this day, 19 long agonizing years later.

The pain never ever dies, but neither do the memories that her loved ones keep alive every single day.
Emily's life was a life to celebrate
A special soul that is never forgotten, this is our promise to never forget and never stop trying
Someday, somehow, we Will figure this out and justice Will be served
As long as we all keep our promises, God will show us the way

Emily has a special place in all of our hearts
She's so strong, and she will fight within us until justice is served
Just more reason to keep up the hard work and praise the Lord for her existence and her life every single day

Thank you so much, Amy. This means more to our family than you will ever know. You are definitely an Angel on Earth.
