The following is information that we got from a man named Craig Bruce
from Canyon Lake, Texas in 1993 when we first started our own investigation into Emily & Emilio's murder case.
Craig called Emily's mother Sheila and I when we lived in Blessing,
Texas in 1993. He said that he had heard about Emily's murder and wanted to do all that he could to help us find her killer.
Over a 2 week period he called over 20 times and each time that he called the phone number came from a different location.
He told us that he knew the 2 brothers that owned the property where Emily's body had been found and he also told us that
he knew Det. Tommy Ward very well and that they drank together sometimes at a bar in Canyon Lake. Det. Ward said that this
was not true and that he didn't even know this guy. Over this 2 week period of calls, Craig Bruce told us that he wanted to
set up a memorial for Emily, that he wanted to help pass out fliers, and do anything he could to help us in any way. At the
same time, we found it very strange that when he would call, he would ask us about all the details surrounding Emily's murder,
such as what all had been done to her before she was murdered, had she been sexually assaulted and how, who she may have known
in Canyon Lake, and etc. We found it sort of eerie that he wanted all the gory details about how she was sexually assaulted
and if they had used objects or what and we sort of put a red flag up with him and wouldn't give him the information. He told
us that he had lived in Canyon Lake for several years and that his wife operated a beauty shop in Canyon Lake. He told us
that he didn't know Emily, but was just really interested in helping us find her killer. When we finally asked him about why
when he called us that the phone number always came up from a different location he refused to answer us. His phone calls
stopped after that and her never called again. We have always felt this was very strange and always had some suspicions about
him.
Then about 3 years ago, there was a message left in one of Emily's
GuestBook pages from a woman named Tracie Shaw and she claimed to have been good friends with Emily before her murder. I contacted
this lady to find out how she knew her and she said that she and her brother Craig Bruce had been good friends of Emily's.
I couldn't believe it when she told me that her brother was Craig Bruce and that he had known Emily before she was murdered.
I asked her what ever happened to her brother and she told me that right after Emily's murder that he had moved to Scotland
for a while and then moved back to Canyon Lake years later. We found this to be very odd along with all of the other things
that didn't add up about this guy.
If anyone has any information about Craig Bruce or if you know him,
please contact our family at the information below as soon as possible. We would really like to talk to him. Tracie still
lives in San Antonio, Texas and we would like to talk with her also.
